Culligan Designed Regeneration Process Ensures Consistent Water Quality Culligan dealers use proprietary regeneration systems, developed by Culligan Research and Development, for maximum efficiency and economy in resin regeneration and fast turnaround of tanks. This type of system allows Culligan dealers the option to dedicate not only tanks, but the resin itself to a particular customer, so that your resins and tanks are not cross-contaminated by those of other customers.
System capability Your Culligan dealer can add other processes such as softening, filtration and sterilization to meet your special needs. Exchange tank service can be used as a low-cost back-up for automatic demineralizers.
High Purity Water Systems - From A Single Tank To A Complete System.
Culligan high purity water systems using exchange tanks are available in several system configurations. Your Culligan dealer selects the sizes, capacities, and options, to create the system that meets your water quality and quantity needs, while maintaining a low operating cost. Tanks are available in Tripl-Hull™ steel, stainless steel or fiberglass; all tanks and components are completely compatible.
TWO–BED
The cation and anion exchangers are connected in series. The cation tank removes positively charged ions (calcium, sodium, magnesium, iron, manganese and potassium). The anion tank removes negatively charged ions (sulfates, chlorides, carbonates, bicarbonates, nitrates and silica). Strong base anion units typically produce 0.2 megohm water at a pH of 8-9, whereas weak base anion units produce lower water quality, a pH of 6-7, and do not remove silica or CO2. |
MIXED–BED
Cation and anion resins are combined and mixed in a single tank. Thousands of cation and anion ion exchanges take place as water passes through the resin bed. Typical water quality of 2 megohm or more with neutral pH. |
MULTIPLE–TANK SYSTEMS
Three tanks or more are connected in series; or parallel; or a combination of the two. Produces high purity water in any desired quantity. Systems may consist of strong acid cation, strong or weak base anion and mixed bed media tanks in a number of varying combinations, to produce the water quality required. Water qualities of 15 megohm or more, with a neutral pH, can typically be attained. |
COMPLETE MULTIPLE–PROCESS TREATMENT SYSTEMS
Exchange service tanks using other water treatment medias create a more complete high purity water system. Typically, a system may include one or more of the following processes: softening, depth filtration, carbon adsorption, UV sterilization, submicron filtration, or other treatment equipment. |
Optional Accessories
1. Water Quality Instrumentation - monitors water quality (resistivity) or controls poor quality end points. 2. Recirculation Systems - keep high purity water in motion to maintain water quality. 3. Automatic Safety Shut-off Valve - shuts down the system to prevent delivery of low quality water to points of use. 4. Automatic Bank Switch-over System - switches from exhausted tanks to stand-by tanks to provide uninterrupted flow of high purity water. 5. Alarm System - alerts customer personnel of the need to call for a tank exchange.

Culligan Analytical Service The Culligan Analytical Laboratory located in Northbrook IL provides its dealers with the highest quality water analysis using EPA approved methods. This laboratory was in the first group of environmental laboratories in the United States to be accredited in accordance with the standards of the National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Conference (NELAC) standards. Experienced chemists using state-of-the-art equipment assure accurate test results.
Culligan Computer Sizing The CAAP® (Computer Aided Application Program) Software program can size systems for mixed-bed, two-bed strong base, two-bed weak base, tri-bed and carboxylic applications. The program calculates resin capacities, gallons per exchange, system dimensions, weights and pressure losses using all available tank types and sizes.
